What He Wants vs. What He Needs

Needs and wants are generally two very different things, but luckily, you can still fulfill both! Get your guy outfitted for the rest of Summer and the early days of Fall with the pieces you know he’ll need now and the things that are just too irresistible to pass up for later.

What he needs now: Dri-fit Shorts
He may think he can keep working out in his regular old shorts, but once he tries a pair that wick away sweat as he’s pumping iron or in the middle of his hour-long cardio, he’ll know what was seriously missing from his gym wardrobe.

What he’ll want later: Puffy Vest
Come Fall, your sporty dude will love an extra layer when he’s out and about. This down and feather-filled design from Hawke and Co. is a great addition to his hiking gear as it keeps him warm and is easily packable for when he needs a little cool down.

What he needs now: Printed Tees

With the crazy heat waves we’ve been experiencing, it would be understandable if he decides to enjoy drinks after work or a day at the museum in a cotton tee instead of the standard button-down. Our suggestion? Cool stripes from American Rag.

What he’ll want later: Checked sport shirts
I’m sure he has some great button-downs in his closet, but make sure he stays on trend this season with a few new styles – like the great patterns from Bar III. Maybe not office apropos, but they’ll definitely make him the hottest thing on the dance floor!

What he needs now: Colorful Polos
Make sure he’s properly dressed for Summer Fridays and client meetings on the golf course with smart, cotton polos that’ll combine easily with his favorite pair of khakis. Fore!

What he’ll want later: Classic black suit
Help him climb the corporate ladder with a modern, slim-cut suit. It’ll make him look and feel great – because when it comes to snagging that new position, confidence is key!
