It feels like just yesterday we were kicking off the Spring 2017 shows, but alas, another New York Fashion Week has already come and gone. And now that the supermodel-filled runways and champagne-doused celebrations are done, it’s time to get to work at the Macy’s Fashion Office. Our team of trendspotters and forecasters has spent the week keeping their eyes peeled for the next big thing in fashion and they’re spilling all the secrets to you!

“The power of pink shined in minimal silhouettes. Shades of pink and pinks combined together were everywhere. Metallic is major as well and not just shades of gold, but lots of silver and iridescence.”

“I’m loving the Mix Master look with artistic collages of prints and patterns in a fusion of styles. Plus collectible accessories like novelty bags and architectural shoes.”

“The ultra-femme Modern Romance trend is confirmed this season with newness in mixing structure and tailoring with soft details in color, fabrics and ruffles. I’m loving the femininity and playfulness of this trend — it’s easy to take from day to night and work-week to weekend.”

“Urban energy continues to be ever present on the New York runways, seamlessly fusing active fabrications with high fashion in new and unexpected ways. Sophisticated versions of the sweatshirt and hoodie look especially fresh.”

“Fruit motifs made us yearn for the early days of summer again. I loved the lighthearted novelty pins paired with sophisticated silhouettes.”

“As for accessories, the size and color  combinations of saddle bags make  them an easy addition to anyone’s  closet. And oversized backpacks show  a casual, cool vibe in a mix of sizes, shapes and colors.”
