The Inside Scoop w/Caprice: Fashion Star Season 2, Episode 2

So, last night’s episode was “Sex Sells” and I couldn’t wait to see how each designer was going to take on this challenge! The idea of sexy can mean different things to different people and with so many interpretations out there, my imagination was running wild about what was going to come out on the runway…

First up? Nicole’s team. I knew we could expect a great showing from these designers — and they did not disappoint! I snagged Daniel’s curve-hugging dresses and was beyond excited to add them to our stores. Body-con silhouettes and provocative cutouts are SO trend-right for Spring. He nailed both styles flawlessly and managed to be über sexy yet tasteful and sophisticated. A true stunner!

Next, out came Team JV. John’s designers took a very different approach to the task, relying on fit and details to tell the story. I didn’t buy from any of them this week, but I’ve got my eye on a few!

And last but not least: Team Jessica.  All I can say is, WOW!  Not only was I thoroughly impressed by the sheer talent of this group, but also at how open they were to coaching. Each one of them took Jessica’s advice and it definitely paid off! Case in point: Jesse Ray and Garrett. Turning that basket knit vest into a dress was pure genius. The black version is an absolute must-have and will look fantastic on all body types. It was definitely worth the FIGHT to hook this dress for you gals!

Even after such great efforts by all, we did have to send someone home. This week, it was Tori but I have to say, I admired her professionalism in the face of adversity. No doubt, this is not the last we will hear of Ms. Tori Nichel!

That’s it for now!  See you next week and I would recommend buying your “sexy dress” ASAP on  I predict they’re going to sell out… FAST!
