Meet The Perfumers Behind Fall’s Newest Scents

Sometimes we’re just a little too busy basking in the scent of our favorite perfumes to wonder, “How do they come up with this stuff?” Well, that’s exactly what we asked the minds behind a few of our favorite new fragrances. These experts dished on what inspired their delightful creations and exactly what kind of mood and emotions they evoke. Oh and by the way, it just happens to be the perfect time to pick up a new fragrance during Macy’s Scent Event, now through October 11th.

NEW! YVES SAINT LAURENT MON PARIS

YSL Mon Paris was created by three different perfumers, together challenging tradition and redefining timelessness… building on a symbol of French elegance through a whirlwind of love, breaking the rules. The first impression is of white patchouli and musk, then the heart of raspberry and pear, and it ends with an addictive trail of the unexpected oral, inspired by the Datura Flower… it acts as a source of light in the fragrance, creating a solar energy that is enigmatic and captivating.”

– Olivier Cresp, Dora Baghriche & Harry Fremont, Perfumers

NEW! MISS DIOR ABSOLUTELY BLOOMING

“The idea was to create a blooming fragrance of roses from Grasse, France… some red berry notes, black currant, a little strawberry — but a strawberry with bite. A slightly more sensual flower — not too well behaved. You will love to smell Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming, but at the same time you will want to bite into it.”

– Francois Demachy, Perfumer

NEW! MARC JACOBS DIVINE DECADENCE

Divine Decadence is a radiant, sensual floral. It emphasizes a sparkling floralcy with the introduction of a champagne extract which captures what I imagine of being glamorous, sensual and confident… simply Divine. I cannot imagine the Divine Decadence girl without a glass of champagne!”

– Annie Buzantian, Perfumer

NEW! COACH EAU DE PARFUM

“I was really inspired by the unique energy that New York City spreads…it is a sparkling yet sensual fragrance with ingredients like raspberry leaves and vibrant woods, blended with Turkish roses and suede musks. Coach Eau de Parfum is a spirited fragrance, full of contrasts, with the right touch of sensuality. Exactly like New York for me.”

– Anne Flipo & Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Perfumers
