As we continue our Spring style coverage, now’s a good time bring your guy up to speed on all the need-to-know men’s fashion trends. From a wave of nautical vibes to a contagiously cool case of the blues, you’d better believe this season is shaping up to be his most fashionable one yet.

spring 2016 men's fashion trends: boat shoes, chinos and the coolest nautical clothing

Tell your fella to break out the boat shoes and roll up his chinos — we’re navigating a course on seaside style. Thanks to an eye-catching palette reminiscent of the deep blue, the nautical spirit is in full effect from the docks to the city streets. And with updated takes on the iconic Breton shirt and traditional naval elements, like anchor and rope motifs, he’s sure to earn his stripes in the wardrobe department this Spring.

Style Tip: Shirts with thick stripes at the chest and shoulder areas offer guys who are on the slimmer side a broader appearance, while men with muscular builds should look for thinner lines that tone down, rather than emphasize, an above average frame.

The Good Life
Warmer weather, lighter layers, brighter days… life is good. Inspired by the laidback luxury of Palm Springs, we’re all about sporting pastels shorts, unbuttoning our collars and going with the flow (flowing fabrics, that is). Think easygoing sophistication. No matter if he opts to make his suit pop with a preppy pink dress shirt or prefers fresh floral prints instead, he’ll start to feel like every day is vacation.

Style Tip: If your guy’s hesitant about stepping out in bold hues, have him start in a subtle way. A small addition of a pastel color — like a chalky blue dress shirt or playfully pink socks — is an easy way to give his look added flair.

spring 2016 mens fashion trends: mens joggers, distressed denim and the perfect fitting jeans

Fact: When it comes to denim this season, there are no limits! Between a whole slew of cuts, colors and details to explore and a wealth of new designs from your guy’s favorite brands, the phrase “feeling blue” is about to get a whole new meaning. Add chambray shirts, jean jackets, and distressed shorts into the picture and one thing’s for sure: His closet is in for the ultimate upgrade in cool!

Style tip: Picking out the best fitting denim always comes down to lifestyle. Classic and relaxed fit jeans are perfect for the guy who stays active and loves to feel comfy throughout the day. Is your man all about a clean-cut look? Have him try a pair of selvage denim. Or if he’s looking to earn a few style points, suggest a pair of skinny or slim fit jeans — or better still, men’s joggers!

  1. I really like the Gordy printed short-sleeve sport shirt the model is wearing with the Levi’s denim jacket and jean shorts. However the link to the Gordy printed short-sleeve is not provided and I couldn’t find the shirt on Macy’s website or Levi’s. I know the shirt is a Levi’s shirt. Please help me find it.

    Thank you so much.
