Next Level Holiday Decorating with Macy’s Fashion Director, Roberson Keffer

There’s just something truly magical about decorating for the holidays! From breaking out the family heirlooms to creating new traditions, nothing beats sharing these moments with friends and family. And this year, if you want to take it all to the next level, you’ve come to the right place! With a little help from our very own Fashion Director of Home, Roberson Keffer, we’ve got the three hottest trends this holiday season…

Make Merry

’Tis the season to bring on the holly jolly! The classic red and green motif is the focus of this trend. Its mix of holiday plaids, beautifully adorned trees, reindeers and teddy bears transport you to Santa’s Workshop in the North Pole. But unfortunately, when it comes to small spaces, big trees may not be very practical. Roberson’s pro tip: “Opt for festive tabletop trees instead. They can go anywhere and instantly add cheer to your home. Also, wall decals are the perfect way to decorate without taking up any room at all!”

More is more

“Drama. Glamour. Sophistication. If you’re looking to expand your definition of decorating for the holidays and jump on one of fashion and interior design’s biggest trends, then this is the collection for you,” states Roberson. “Here, we go beyond red and green, and give you emerald, sapphire, amethyst, burgundy and gold. This trend is also rich in texture and shine, like this amazing velvet brocade tree skirt. Also, I love the stocking holders in this collection—elegant and refined.”

Winter White

Roberson is very excited about this one! He says, “This season’s biggest trend is all about winter white. The sweater-knit stockings, the touches of gray and the mixture of natural finishes like bark, cork and flocked evergreens really give the trend dimension and warmth.” Let’s not forget that faux fur, polar bears, lots of white lights and all the rich textures also help bring this this trend to life—and to tie everything together, silver and gold accents are a must!
