First Look: Fall Beauty Must Haves!

I have a seriously hard time talking about Fall when my brain is just getting into the full swing of summer, but then the new Fall beauty collections arrive. The day that first collection hits my desk, it’s pure bliss! Within a week max, my nails have gone from bright to the deepest navy, my lips – berry stained and each cool evening has be anxiously awaiting what always seems to be the most gorge season of the year. Here, a first look at what I’m crushing on for Fall.

Shadows and Sticks – This Fall is all about the smolder! To sizzle all season, I recommend having three things easily accessible in your eye makeup arsenal – a shadow palette versatile enough to go from every day to play, anything to add a metallic accent, and at least one bold color, be it black or a brilliant bright. You’ve got my picks right here! Personally, I think Dior can do no wrong with their 5 Couleurs Palettes and this season is the same. I can’t even pick a favorite from the new Fall lineup! Honestly, I just have them strewn about my desk so I can stare at them all day. It’s true! My Dior addiction is currently on our Instagram for the world to see. I know we’re talking shadow, but while we’re on the topic of Dior, the polish is beyond. I’ve already worn four of the five shades, and two (Bar & Pied-de-Poule) are on my tips and toes right now.

Moving past my personal issues … You can always count on Too Faced to bring something playful to the party, and the Cat Eyes Collection is just that! It packs everything you need to create three gorge cat eye looks, including step-by-step instructions, into a purr-fect cheetah print tin. Double meow! Last but not least, I was already a fan of Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks, but the newly released shades are divine. All of the colors shown will be going into my regular rotation ASAP!

Liner and Lashes – I literally got my hands on the new Too Faced Bulletproof Liners yesterday and I’m addicted. First, they’re a hybrid shadow/liner with a sharpener built into the smudger tip – genius! Place the color on your lid instead of shadow, blend it out, line along the lashes, and voila! My only tip, blend quickly or the color will set. I layered Get Lucky, the metallic teal over Black Out, and it’s gorgeous!

And what would a great eye be without loads of lashes? In my book, incomplete. This season Lancôme is bringing some serious fringe to the game. While their Cils Booster has been around and adored for some time, Grandiôse Mascara is all new and absolutely amazing!!! It’s the first mascara created with a swan-neck applicator and brush in the shape of the hanoi flower. What does that mean exactly? The brush is small enough to get right at the base of the lashes and inner corner of the eye without leaving mascara on your lid, but the swan-neck wand is the real magic. It works with the contours of your face, so you can turn it to easily fit right in the inner and outer corner of the eyes, coating every last teeny tiny lash and leaving lashes with a fan-like affect.  It took me a few times of using it, I’m a mascara loyalist, but now I absolutely LOVE it and definitely feel like my lashes look the longest when coated with Grandiôse.

Lips – Just in case it’s not abundantly obvious from the image, there’s one color you’re going to want on your lips come Fall – a full-coverage rich red. Whether you prefer bright, like Bing Cherry from Smashbox, the deeper Plumberry or Desire from Laura Mercier, or a bold Bordeaux like Dior Pied-de-Poule or Melted Berry by Too Faced, there’s a shade for every skin tone and pout. The beauties above should give you a great starting point! xx
