One of the best things about New York City is its infinite supply of great eats — it’s almost as if there’s a new restaurant waiting for you on every block! While the Lower East Side may be considered a foodie’s paradise, you haven’t seen a thing until you’ve ventured uptown and explored all the culinary hotspots? around 125th Street. If you’re looking for the perfect place to start, you’ll definitely want to add the first annual Harlem Eat-Up Festival to your calendar, pronto.
Combining the amazing food, rich culture and unmatchable spirit of Harlem, the exciting four-day event kicks off Thursday, May 14th with two nights of Dine in Harlem. We’re talking mouthwatering meals from a roster of America’s most esteemed culinary experts, including Macy’s Culinary Council Chef — and the neighborhood’s very own — Marcus Samuelsson.
The festivities continue Saturday morning with Harlem Talks, a series of panel discussions about the heart and soul of the restaurant world, and carry on through Sunday night with free walk-around events filled with tasty bites, live culinary demos and a firsthand look at what the area’s creative scene is all about — from art and fashion to music and dance.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels and Harlem Park to Park, an organization that supports local small businesses (so you’ll be doing a good deed for the community and your taste buds).
Speaking of Chef Marcus Samuelsson, here’s a look at his tasty BBQ Burger recipe — it’s one of our faves and totally de-lish!
