When we heard Aldo shoes were coming to Macy’s, we were absolutely pumped. Ask anyone here at mBLOG and they’ll tell you how they’ve loved this brand since basically forever. For every killer outfit we’ve got, there was a pump, peep-toe, boot, bootie, sleek sneaker—we could go on, and on!—that we could find at Aldo. So, to get the details on the new collection, we tapped Katie Green, Aldo Group’s Senior Director of Global Communications. Her tell-all has us creating quite the wish list…
How would you describe the Aldo collection at Macy’s?
We have developed a point-of-view for all occasions so that our customer can stay lock-step with the new and the now. It’s August, but our customer is already looking to prepare their fall wardrobe. Our new collection’s cutting-edge silhouettes in luxurious leathers and rich swaths of suede capture the approaching season and solve transitional “what-to-wear” weather dilemmas. We want our Aldo customer at Macy’s to always feel a step ahead of the next big thing.
Can you give us the scoop on the hottest shoe trends for fall, and which Aldo shoes we need to have now?
We have a strong transitional collection that will ease our customers into the chillier months of fall, while remaining light and comfortable for those last days of summer. The Fiolla and Thylia styles will delight our female customer with ladylike silhouettes and rich colors.
What are the shoe staples every girl must have in their closet?
Beyond the essential black pump and comfy loafer, we are all about the comeback of the mule — a signature style that has been crafted by Aldo since the beginning. Our day-to-play staples also include a bright heel (pink, red, or blue), a cognac suede boot and for an amazing night out, a metallic block heel.
Can you give us some style tips?
Fall 2016 is all about deep jewel tones, the resurgence of baroque prints, the cool balance of athleisure, and the edginess of studded leather outfits. In terms of textiles, we are loving rich velvet, dark denim, vinyl and metallic finishes. Our best advice is to have fun layering your favorite pieces and pairing your “it” heel with a trend-right handbag because, at the end of the day, it’s all about comfort and confidence.
