As computer chip designers, Texas couple Caitlin and Cory spend all day staring at their monitors, so naturally, they’d like their first together home to be quite the opposite of their tiny workspace. Lots of land, close to town, an open floor plan… these are just a few of the things at the top of their wish list. Will they be able to find exactly what they’re looking for? Let’s see!
Aside from an open floor plan, Cory preferred a neutral color for the walls — and no wallpaper! As for Caitlin, her wish was for a cottage interior with some French flair, muted tones or pastels on accent walls, and dark floors. Once the color palette was established, a coffee table topped with warm travertine stone was used as a focal point as well as an end table in a similar neo-American style. A cozy throw blanket then served as a pop of color for the neutral space.

Continuing with subtle neutrals, updates to the bedroom began with a rustic, wooden furniture set. From there, geometric panel curtains were added for a mod, contemporary vibe. The comforter and sheets ensemble, crafted from ultra-soft cotton, served up a relaxed-but-luxe look. And what better way to introduce a splash of color than with turquoise vases!
