Whether you’re a fan of Summer (sun! beach!) or not (back sweat!), it is officially over. So, that means it’s time to get excited about the best parts of Fall (cooler temps! pretty leaves! great fashion!). Even if you’re not up on all the new trends yet, fret not. Here are my favorites that you can rock with minimal effort.
1. Riding Boots
If you could splurge on just one thing this fall, I’d have to recommend a great pair of boots. Worn with jeans or even casual dresses, they’re appropriate for women of any age or body type. Plus, they tell the world you’re strong, sexy and on-trend.
2. Deep Reds
The color palette this season looks less like squeeze-bottle ketchup and more like a glass of delicious red wine. These rich, luxurious reds work on any skin tone, so consider indulging in a deep burgundy leather jacket or a textured, crimson handbag — or even a ruby shoe!
3. The Skater Skirt
What’s that? It’s sort of an A-line with attitude. This trend is more versatile than you might think and can practically be worn year-round. Try it with a button-down blouse and tailored blazer for a menswear- inspired feel or throw on a chunky sweater and a statement necklace for a sophisticated yet flirty vibe. Younger women might want to try shorter versions of these skirts, but if you have your doubts, stick to the safety zone: right around your kneecap.
4. Satchel Bags
With colder weather comes the need to carry around more stuff. You know, like hats, gloves, scarves and umbrellas. Thus, this trend is not just fashionable, but also functional, too! However, if you’re going to do it, do it right. Look for a bag with a little personality, something with a little color, texture, pattern and/or shine.
5. Embellished Details
Searching for a pick-me-up? Nothing brightens an otherwise blah day than a good dose of sparkle. And this season, you’ll find it on everything from booties to shirt collars and even woven into your favorite knit sweater. Shine on, girl. Your smile is bound to be contagious.
I hope that helps! And remember, to keep asking those questions. I’m always listening
